Biggest realization after my first day as a secondary on clinic shift

Hahaha! After two years of learning huge volumes of medical information (pieces of info, really) it’s now time to use the next two years to put it all together. I’ll admit, I’m a bit scared by it all, but that’s normal and par for the course. No worries though, I’m being supervised to ensure no lives are in immediate danger…I hope!

If something goes wrong, I’m sure you’ll see my trial on TV 😉

I don’t say “bring it on” because I’m ready and prepared or even a badass. In fact, it’s the opposite! I’m just too tired to freak out anymore. If anything, give me the damn tests so I can leave sooner and choose between sleep, eating, retail therapy, and/or lots of wine at happy hour!

When life starts to get TOO real and scary, I sometimes think…

Well folks, I registered for my first set of medical boards (NPLEX Part I  [MD equivalent is STEP I]) today. I take them on August 6th. As I typed in my credit card info to pay the $150 application/registration fee plus $350 for the actual test (that’s right, $450 for a damn TEST), I had the sudden desire to go back to my mother’s womb when the idea of life seemed way more simple. Hahaha, I know I’m not the only one who wants to go back!! I just remember that challenges make us better and stronger human beings. Cheers to living life…the good, the bad…and the ugly! Amen!
